Our pack meeting on Thursday was celebrating St Patricks Day. We made soda farls and they cooked until the end of Cubs. We then took them home to eat. My Dad is Irish and said they tasted just like the real thing!
We also played games with potatoes. Our first game was passing the potato around while we were standing up. When the music stopped if you had the potato you had to sit down. It was very funny when there were only a few of us left in the game because we had to run to the others to pass the potato. We also played potato bowling. By the end of the game we hardly had any potatoes left as they kept splitting. We also had to guess the weight of different potatoes. None of us guessed right.
We also had a chocolate coin hunt to represent the gold coin on St Patricks Day. We tried to collect as many as possible as we all love chocolate. I love St Patricks Day at Cubs.
The Leaders would like to thank Sophie who planned the entire evening and ran the St Patricks Day celebrations with the help of Hannah. Both Sophie & Hannah are members of the Scout Troop working towards their Community Challenge badge.
